K00 <3s J00

Well firstly, doesn't it just scream out to you that if you got in to the car that you would probably wake up to find yourself in Thailand without your arms and legs begging on the streets? (Ah, the lovely lies that parents tell to frighten their children)

I digress a little. A few weeks ago, I was on the bus and there was this whole group of punks at the rear. With proper spikey green, pink hair that would probably surpass the length of 2 erected Josh cannons. So they were talking to this kid (probably 4-6 with his mum by the side)

"Kid, don't ever do drugs. Or you'll end up like us. Not cool."

And as they left the bus, the boy turns to the mum and says.

"Mum, I think those guys were really cool."

Mum laughs, and says. "If you drink beer, your hair will turn green."

Boy goes. "Cooool...."

I walk around the streets and what I like about Western culture is that how independence is promoted greatly. Independence within a relationship, growing old together and spending a lot mroe time together as a couple, as a result of children not being by their side (Not cool). I don't see anyone I could grow old with, but then I thought about friends. At least I can imagine all of us being 60 years old and still meeting up, I really can. And that made me happy, because I can't think of many other friends who I see myself with in that similar scenario.

As we nearly hit 23, I feel that I have aged terribly. Aged terribly in the sense that my body has aged, aged in that I really have made incredible progress in developing myself as a person, in the way I think, interact, and carry myself. I had 2 main goals when I came overseas. To meet more people from all diverse backgrounds, and to learn how to hold a proper conversation. I'm glad it's gone well so far.

Thank you parents, for giving me this opportunity to study overseas. It's been priceless.
