Close, But No Cigar

I second that. Any potential balls, please erase this URL from your memories, and learn to lead lives more fruitful than those you can learn from this group of hopeless guys. No-Aircon-Cheong's case is an anomaly; it will happen only if you have a hrony freak living inside all this time, repressed and waiting to emerge when your parents are not around and alcohol is plentiful.

Today's Tuesday Singapore time, so it's two more days to the last paper. I think I messed up my Contract paper badly - nay, disastrously - and it is just not a nice feeling. While I am supposed to take heart from consolatory phrases like "It'll turn out fine" or "Don't worry; it's only first year", but then I think I place inordinate pressure on myself because I am beginning to regard this course as a feasible (and likely) future career. The stakes are much higher than they were in JC, or even in the army, because they were merely stepping stones, not gateways into the future.

I empathise with the scholarship balls, who face greater pressure because their futures are tied to how well they do now in greater and more substantial ways. And while I do understand that life might change in the future, and that I might conceivably change jobs/professions/careers, that is still too far off right now.

So as not to make this post appear more somber than it actually is, here's a little update about Singapore television. There is going to be a new gameshow called "Deal or No Deal", and one of the 26 lovely girls carrying the briefcases is Andrea F*nseka (just in case Googling her name leads people to our secret hideout). Guess who's going to be glued to his screen when the show is on ;)
