getting all philosophical and interllectual eh?
the amount of thinking going into the blog over the last few days is shocking! i had no idea pple actually gave any thought into what they put on their blogs.. but i suppose it's a nice refreshing change from the crap and BS we normally devolve into when writing and comparing our lives.. perspectives from all corners of the world..
firstly i must say OOP, i agree with kiff! whats wrong with hanging out with 3 soph girls? i wish i had more interaction with upperclassmen.. sometimes the maturity and decision making process of these retard freshemen just frustrates me.. esp when it comes to alcohol and partying.. the problem here is that freshmen are isolated in terms of where we eat and stay.. so there goes a HUGE opportunity for getting to know ur seniors.. i long for the days when the people around me will stop talking about how drunk they got last wkend.. or the upcoming "kick ass!" trip to cancun.. looking back.. i don't even remember myself being like that say 3 years ago in JC or starting army.. i think the americans r just spoilt and out of control.. i feel like a hypocrite tho.. bcoz most of my friends r americans anyway!
hai chieh there is no answer to the question regarding "who is the real you?".. we are all changing.. one day we feel strongly about something.. the next day we might read or hear about another perspective and don't give a shit about it anymore! yes there are things which stick with us forever and are unlikely to change.. like how we might feel about sex, drugs, abortion etc.. but on so many other points we change like the weather.. esp now that we r thrown into a strange environment overseas, we are FORCED to change or be left behind and isolated.. a little singapore colony all alone in a sea of US or UK pple.. while of course like OOP we don't really wanna transform totally and leave our old selves behind, as they still have great value and it was our old selves which brought us so many good friends in the first place, but like it or not we are changing and right now, after less than a year away, it is WAY too soon to say what we are like or what we will be like.. ok sorry for the last paragraph of rambling...
gotta head out for history class on WWI and WWII.. maybe i'll add a bit to this post later..
