Modern Talking

Since I'm online, and finding that my "RJ Balls" group on my MSN list is totally empty, I thought I might as well do a little reply to the insightful Penisil's post. I must admit that I haven't really put much thought into the topic, and most of this post is off the top of my head.

I suppose on the most basic level, the individual level, everyone is different. Some respond more enthusiastically to "intellectual" topics like philosophical musings and introspective thoughts (*casts eyes at OOP*), while others take a more prospective attitude towards life, where the more important things are the ones that affect you materially and physically.

And then, on the next level, is the degree of relationship. I think the degree to which you are comfortable with another person can affect the depth of your conversation. I still find it amazing how women (this is a serious generalisation but what the hell) communicate only an almost sublime level, and they can share every intimate thought and detail with another woman she had just met.

I don't really think the "ball level" of relationship is more incisive or has more depth, but we talk about a lot of things (stupid, childish things mainly haha) but it's a comfortable level of emotional and intellectual involvement. OOP is the only one who really brings up meaty intellectual conversations, with interesting perspectives which I wish I gave more thought to, but then I'm usually too preoccupied with the impending DOTA game that I don't really notice.

Or maybe, it's just that we're all too caught up with the frenzied pace of life that we don't stop to appreciate good conversation. I know I don't, because there's too much to do. But I wish I did.

On a sidenote: You know Chong, some of the balls here (*koff*Josh*koff*Joo*) might think it's a damn good thing to be talking to 3 sophomore female friends.
