When we were young

No Keith, I totally agree with you. The only person I'd accuse of looking at life (or at least Josh and random girl crossing the street) with rose-tinted glasses is Joo, cause he's in LUV. Secondary school was a really fun time (and we got to wear long pants in upper sec haha), no social life to worry about, just play soccer during recess, go for training and third language. Granted there was some stress when it came to exam time but honestly, back then, the only thing I really cared about was softball.

I do remember wanting to leave secondary school for JC in sec 4 though cause the school rules were starting to feel a little repressive and I guess I was tired after spending 4 years in one place. After reaching JC though, I immediately realized how much more fun RI was. I have always tended to look forward to the future at the expense of the present, I guess because there was something or other that I was unsatisfied with and the future brought hope that I could rectify that. Heck, I didn't even dread enlistment but don't ask me what I hoped to get out of it. The only time that I could honestly say I was sad about leaving for the next stage was coming to the states. I know I really wanted to study overseas at the end of JC but by the end of army, I realized just how much there was for me in Singapore.

So guys, enjoy what you have, even if part of you wants to be overseas or home. Last night, before bed, I was craving for har cheong gai.
