Halcyon Days

The Law Balls just had our first law test today. It was one hour of frantic, hectic scribbling; of papers flipping; of hearts sinking at the realisation that we did not have enough time to say everything we wanted to say. As horrible as it was, it seemed extremely cathartic as well, as the pent-up anticipation of the past week was finally divested.

I just realised that I feel terribly nostalgic whenever the bus I'm on passes by Chinese High. In an amazing assault of secondary school nostalgia, I'm struck by the fact that I actually miss the school. Maybe not the school per se, but the people I spent many Secondary Three and Four days with, and the carefree innocence that came with being an unruly student in a single-ed school at a time of life where we thought we were invincible.

Killer Chong may say that I'm looking back with rose-tinted glasses, and I do agree. My mind is probably suppressing all the horrid memories of the time where khaki shorts were the norm, but I guess this nostalgia means that there existed more good times in my life at TCHS than I dare to admit.
