bit late but never mind
Flight:
Nothing special, though. Must say SQ food is getting better. I used to hate eating airplane food, cept for the cookies, but now almost eveything is edible :) Watched "You've got mail" during the flight, funny how some things just coincide.
Day 1:
Arrival in Bali late at night. At first, being the stingy people that we are, we had planned to spend the night at airport and head over to Lovina (a town in bali)in the morning, especially since the main town was Kuta (which was bombed twice), and we didn't want to be targets. Since we are also 'bratty', we changed our minds and set about finding a cheap hotel instead (tiredness won out in the end). The place was Simpang Inn, and well it wasn't a 'any-star' hotel, it was pretty passable, and relatively cheap too.
Day 2
A surprise came with the dawn. The free breakfast provided with the inn turned out to be 2 slices of plain toast. I wasn't expecting much, but I wished it was a little more filling. Then its off to the bus for a 2-3 hour trip to Lovina.
We stopped by a restaurant for lunch halfway through, with great scenery. it was located by a mountaintop lake (caldera?), and the air was really fresh. Somehow, I had a feeling that I ate there before, maybe when I went to Bali as a little kid, but I really can't remember anything about that trip.
After a looooonnnnnnngggg trip, we reached Aditya hotel, our home for the next 3 days. Sadly though, it was raining heavily, not the best way to start a beach holiday. After slogging through the flooded paths to reach our rooms, we stayed there playing bridge and tithe till the rain stopped. Then went for a seafood dinner (food there is really cheap compared to here, at most $9 for a restaurant quality meal). Was feeling a little flu bug coming after the rain, so I slept early, while the rest went to explore.
more coming soon
